The News element is used to display posts from News Manager on your Composer page, in a variety of different formats.
Element Settings
In addition to the common element settings, the News element includes the following configuration options.
-
Display:
-
news posts: This option will display only posts assigned to a Category in News Manager. Select to display posts from “All categories” or “Some categories.” If “Some categories” is selected, a dropdown of all categories from News Manager will be shown.
-
group announcements: This option will display only posts assigned to specific roles and/or groups under “Portal Announcement Elements” in News Manager. Only logged-in constituents will be able to see any posts in this element, according to their role or group membership, so it is best to use this on access-controlled pages.
-
news posts & group announcements: This option will display both public news and private announcements. Select to display posts from “All categories” or “Some categories.” If “Some categories” is selected, a dropdown of all categories from News Manager will be shown.
-
-
Display Archived Posts: Posts that have an expiration date set in News Manager will only be shown on News elements with this checkbox selected.
-
Display [X] items from: Select to display between 1 and 50 of the most recent items, or choose a day range or a date range.
-
Display option to [Load More News]: Displays a button (with customizable text) to load more posts after the initial ones are displayed. If a day or date range has been set, this button will only appear until all posts from the specified range are shown.
