This article refers to our legacy product, Page Manager. For the best Finalsite experience, we recommend using our newest product, Composer. To find out how to upgrade your site, talk to your Client Success Manager or learn more on our website.
Mobile Directory pages are equivalent to Constituent Directories on the full site. Mobile users can use the Directory Page to lookup contact information for various constituents associated with your website, and can, if you so choose, be configured to display contact information so that users can call or email constituents directly from their mobile device.
As with Athletics pages and Calendar pages, tapping on a constituent's name will bring up a detail view with more information about that person. The specific pieces of information which are included on the detail page can be configured from Constituent Manager. See Creating a Directory Page for more details.
To keep load times short and to limit data usage, Mobile Directory pages load profiles in batches of 50 names at a time. Users can tap-and-drag the screen to scroll through the list of names. If the list has been truncated, a button will appear at the bottom of the scrolling list allowing users to load the next 50 names in the Directory.
Searching the Directory
Users can utilize the Filter and Search boxes at the top of the Directory list to constrain the results. Filters allow users to narrow down the Roles, Locations and/or Departments listed on the Directory page.
Users can enter a constituent's name, or part of a name, into the search box to further constrain the Directory list. If a single letter is entered into the Search box, the directory will be filtered to only display constituents whose last names begin with that letter.
The Search box can also be used to match a string of characters, and will return any directory listing which includes that string. For instance, searching for “win” would return ALL Constituents which have the characters “win” anywhere in their profile, including: “Winston,” “Goodwin,” “Swinson,” etc. The search feature will return hits from any field in the Directory, regardless of whether or not that field is actually displayed to users.
As with other protected mobile page types, directory pages whose visibility is limited to members of specific groups or roles will not be publicly available on mobile pages. When members of those groups or roles login, however, they will be able to see that protected information.
