Blog banner elements (Page Manager)

The blog banner element works in conjunction with the features of a blog page to make navigation easier for end users. The blog element can be added to any left or right banner. Site admins can choose which of the blog banner element features are displayed, and can drag-and-drop the features to set their order in the banner.

To hide a particular feature, drag it over to the “Inactive Actions” bucket on the right. The available options are:

  • Archives – The archive section displays a list of months and years, in reverse chronological order. Clicking on a month will filter the blog page so that it only shows posts from that month.

  • Authors – Clicking on the name of a post author will filter the blog page so that only that author's posts are displayed.

  • Categories – Click on a category name to show only those posts which have had that category assigned. The number to the right of a category name indicates how many blog posts have been assigned to that category.

  • Latest Posts – The “Latest Posts” section displays the three most recent blog posts, by any author.

  • Tags – as with categories, blog readers can click on a tag to see all of the posts that have had that tag applied. Tags are displayed in a “tag cloud.” a visual representation of the popularity of the blogs' various tags. The most frequently used tags are displayed with the largest font in the cloud, with smaller fonts representing progressively less popular tags. There are five available font sizes.
