Differentiate between "open" and "closed" attendance records

Many schools limit the number of absences a student can have in a single term. The Finalsite Attendance tool can track the number of attendance incidents for each student and alert teachers or administrators when the student has reached the specified threshold. The Attendance system can be configured so that only those attendance incidents marked as "Open" will count against this threshold. 

"Open" incidents can be reset to "Closed" status in order to track successive notifications after the threshold has been reached the first time in a term.

Attendance incident thresholds can be set and managed in LMS Manager > Attendance. Site Admins can determine the thresholds for absences, late arrivals, and early dismissals independently and can choose whether the system only counts "open" notices, all instances, and so on.
