Moderate in the app: Adjust posting permissions

Administrators can restrict chat rooms to Announcement Only modes directly from their mobile devices.

  • Open the chat room and hold briefly on the room label at the top.
  • Tap Posting Permissions.
  • Select School Moderators Only. Now, only Chat Managers and Admins can post.

Who can post? When set to School moderators only, users with Participant roles are restricted. Only Chat Managers, School Admins, and District Admins retain posting rights.

Quick Tutorial: Adjust Posting permissions

5 STEPS

1. Want to change who can post messages in a certain chat room? Here's how to manage Posting Permissions in your chat room settings.

Moderate in the Chat module (CMS): The Message moderation tab

Navigate to the Mobile Apps module > Chat > Message moderation tab to manage flagged content. Communication appears here if it is caught by our AI or manually reported by a user.

The CMS module provides a centralized dashboard with three primary views:

Tab Purpose Key actions
Reported New items awaiting a decision from an admin. Show full chat, Hide message, Unreport.
Reviewed Audit trail of previously moderated content. View audit trail, Restore hidden messages.
Blocked Management of users currently restricted from chat. View block duration, Lift user bans.

Pro-Tip: Use the Filter tool to narrow results by time range or specific categories (e.g., "Hate Speech") for faster auditing.

There are three tabs within Message moderation: Reported, Reviewed, and Blocked. Here are the different actions that can be taken within each area.

Reported Reviewed Blocked

When any communication is reported, this is where it will first display, along with a number representing how many items are ready to be managed.
