Hide a team's hometown on the roster

This article explains how to hide a team member's hometown on the public athletics roster in Finalsite, including the Site Modules setting that also hides city, state, and country.

đź’ˇQuick answers

  • How do you hide a player's hometown on the roster? Steps: log in as an admin, go to Site Administration > Site Modules > Athletics, check Disable showing on public rosters, then click Update This Module.
  • Does hiding the hometown also hide city and state information? Yes; disabling the hometown display also hides the team member's city, state, and country information on the roster.
  • What admin access is needed to change this roster setting? You need admin access to the Site Modules submenu to change the hometown display setting.
  • Why would a school want to hide hometown information on rosters? Schools often hide this information for privacy reasons, since hometown is displayed by default whenever it's entered in Constituent Manager.

By default, a team member's hometown is displayed, if available (team members must have a hometown in Constituent Manager for it to be displayed). For privacy reasons, you have the ability to hide this information.

To remove the hometown from a team member's information as it appears on the roster, login as an admin. Under Site Administration > Site Modules, select "Athletics" and check the "Disable showing on public rosters" checkbox, as shown below.

Click "Update This Module" to save the change.

Important Note

Disabling the display of the team member's hometown also hides his or her city, state and country information. To change this setting, you must have admin access to the Site Modules submenu.
