Use this article to diagnose common issues with Finalsite Leadflow, where form submissions from your Finalsite Composer (CMS) site are not creating the expected records in Finalsite Enrollment (EMS).

Lead Not Coming Over
If a form was submitted but no lead (parent record) was created in EMS, check that the EMS Subdomain is configured.
The EMS Subdomain dropdown in the CMS form's Integration Settings must have a valid destination selected. If the dropdown is empty or the subdomain has not been configured by the support team, the lead cannot be sent to EMS.
✅ Fix: Confirm that an EMS Subdomain is selected on your CMS form under the form’s Settings > Integration Settings. Contact Support to verify the EMS Integration URL Subdomains are set up correctly in your site’s settings.
Prospect Not Coming Over
If the parent (lead) record was created in EMS but the student (prospect) record was not, the most likely cause is a missing Child Name.
While Child Name is technically optional on its own, it becomes strictly required if your form maps Entry Grade and/or Entry Year (Term). If those fields are mapped without a Child Name, EMS cannot create the student record, and an error will appear in your CMS form submission notification email.
✅ Fix: Add a Child Name field to your form and make sure it is mapped in the Integration Settings.
Missing Prospect Grade
If you have mapped a grade field on your CMS form, but the prospect record is created in EMS with a blank grade field, the grade value on your CMS form likely does not match the canonical grade name in EMS.
Grade values in the CMS form must exactly match the grade canonical names as configured in your EMS site. You can find the canonical names for your site under Settings > General > Grades in EMS.
- Example: If the grade is listed as 1st in EMS, the corresponding choice in your CMS form must also be 1st, not "first", "Grade 1", or any other variation.
✅ Fix: Update the Grade values on your CMS form to match your Grades in EMS.
Missing Prospect Term
If you have mapped a term field on your CMS form, but the prospect record is created in EMS with a blank term field, the value on your CMS form likely does not match an existing term in EMS, or is formatted differently.
Term values must exactly match an active term name in your EMS site. You can find your term names under Settings > General > Terms in EMS.
- Example: If the term is named 2025-2026 in EMS, the CMS form choice must also be 2025-2026 exactly.
✅ Fix: Update the Term values on your CMS form to match your Terms in EMS.
⚠️ Important Note
Copying a form for a new school or EMS site? If you duplicate a lead form and point it to a different EMS destination, make sure to update the term and grade question options to match the terms and grades in that EMS site.
