Alert triggers for cancelled, postponed or deleted events

In Calendar Manager, event alerts are automatically triggered only when an event's date or time changes. To notify subscribers about other changes like location or description, the event must be marked with a status of Changed, Postponed, or Cancelled. Deleting an event does not trigger any alert.

💡Quick answers

  • What event changes automatically trigger an alert to subscribers? Only changes to an event's date or time; other edits (such as location or description changes) do not trigger alerts automatically.
  • How do you trigger an alert when changing an event's location or description? Mark the event with the Changed status before saving; without this, non-date/time edits do not send any alert.
  • Does deleting an event send an alert to subscribers? No; deleting an event does not trigger any notification to subscribers.

Learn more about New Calendars:

Alerts for edits to an event are automatically sent only upon changes to date or time. However, if you use one of the status options of Changed, Postponed, or Cancelled, those will also trigger an alert.

For example, if you change the location or description for an event, this will not trigger an alert unless you mark the event as Changed.

If you simply delete the event from the calendar, an alert will not be sent at all.
