Step 1: Manage posts admins in the Admin Users module

  • Enable Composer for any Admin User group that will be granted access to the Posts module. Otherwise, they cannot view and utilize the Posts module.

Posts permissions are somewhat unique as Posts users may be either Admin Users or Portal Users. Here are a few reminders:

  • Admin Users can have permissions set at Granular Levels for Boards and Collections.
  • Portal Users can only be given Global permission levels.

Step 2: Set Posts permissions

Global permissions are set first because they determine the overall access to the Posts module that a certain person would be granted.

Why are there so many permission levels?

One of your admin users may have complete freedom to all boards and settings in the Posts module (Admin Level) while another may need to be limited to only be able to publish a post without deleting, etc. Finalsite customers love the different levels to be able to give your team what they need to be successful!

Once you have set the overall levels, click on the Board and Collections tabs below to walk through setting the more granular, limited permission levels.

Next Step: THE FINAL STEP Continue to manage as needed

You're almost there!

Using the Posts module is an ongoing experience. As the school year progresses, you'll create new boards, expire old posts, go in different directions on your pages with existing Post elements. You'll learn new information from your community about the news they're interested in. New hiring brings on new authors who need permissions adjustments. You can transform the content from inaccessible PDFs into something magical by creating and displaying post elements together with post tools  elements. This, and more!
