Upload Athletics Manager data

In this Article

With the Athletics upload datasheet, site administrators can quickly upload athletics information into Athletics Manager. If you are not comfortable with uploading your own data, please submit a support ticket for a Finalsite Support team member to assist you.

The datasheet includes five tabs (Teams, Rosters, Opponents, Locations, and Events), each of which must be saved as a tab-delimited text file and uploaded separately. This article will describe the process for each upload.

Note: Since this upload does not use any form of import ID, it is considered a “one-time” upload. This means, if you attempt the upload again due to the fact you received an error the first time, the second upload attempt will create duplicates.

Save as tab-delimited text file

Once you have filled in all the information on the datasheet, most spreadsheet apps will have you download each individual tab of the spreadsheet as a ".tsv" file before saving each tab as a tab-delimited text file. This will allow you to upload the datasheets into Athletics Manager.

Note: Before uploading, the instructions rows must be removed from the datasheet. Column headings, however, should not be removed from any tab in the datasheet. Also, any additional columns that are not in the original datasheet will need to be removed.

  1. Starting with the first tab in your spreadsheet, hover over "Download" to open up further options.

  2. Select "Tab Separated Values (.tsv)"

  3. Edit the name and relabel once your file is downloaded by simply adding the extension .txt, which stands for “Text (Tab delimited.)”

Error when uploading

If you receive any kind of error when uploading the datasheets, please click “Send Error” and submit a “Submit Data for Upload” Support Ticket with the datasheet in question attached. A member of the finalsite team will review the datasheet and the error and then upload the remaining portion of the datasheet into your site.

Athletic syncs

The finalsite Athletics Manager has the ability to sync with Schedule Star (HighSchoolSports.net) and CIAC. If your site is set up to syncs with one of these providers, then the uploads do not apply since the information is being pulled in from the provider.
