Search Tools overview

In the Search Tools feature in Composer, configure settings in each area to provide optimum findability for visitors to your site. This article will give you an overview of all that you can do within Search Tools to help visitors navigate your site(s). 

Advanced Tools + Search Rules Add-On

You may see sections called Advanced Tools and Search Rules in the Search Tools menu, although the features in this section will appear Disabled if they have not been activated for you. If you are interested in adding either of these to your website, please contact your Client Success Manager or email clientsuccess@finalsite.com.

Navigate to Search Tools feature in Composer

Once enabled, admins can access Search Tools from the Composer left navigation, above the Permissions section.

Grant Search Tools permissions

Configure Advanced Tools

Advanced Tools are search features that provide an extra, added layer of searchability for visitors to your site. Configure Search Rules

Search Rules allow site admins to display custom content and/or selected pages at the top of a list of search results when an end user enters a given term.

For example, a Search Rule could be used to ensure that, when a visitor uses the search term “Reunion,” the Alumni home page appears at the top of the list of results.
