Search Tools is a feature in Composer where you can manage your search tools configurations. The Permissions section in Composer includes an option for Search Tools. This article will help you understand how to grant permissions to Search Tools in Composer.

Grant permissions to Search Tools
- Navigate to Composer > Permissions tab.
- Locate the Search Tools column.
- Adjust the settings in the dropdown for each admin user group.
- By default, Search Tools permissions are set to the highest level (Admin) for the Administrators group.
- For all admin groups other than Administrators, this will be set to Not Allowed by default.
- Schools can enable Search Tools for admin groups by changing the setting from Not Allowed to Admin.

The Admin level of permissions gives users access to the Analytics sections of the Search Tools area.
Navigate to Search Tools feature in Composer
Once enabled, admins can access Search Tools from the Composer left navigation, above the Permissions section.
Advanced Tools + Search Rules Add-On
You may also see sections called Advanced Tools and Search Rules in the Search Tools menu, although the features in this section will appear Disabled if they have not been activated for you.
