Troubleshoot: Magnus Health integration

This article covers troubleshooting steps for the Magnus Health integration in Finalsite, including how to confirm the integration is enabled and how to verify required student and parent data in Constituent Manager.

đź’ˇQuick answers

  • Why aren't students and parents syncing with Magnus Health? The most common causes are the integration being turned off, missing required data in Constituent Manager, or a Vendor Key mismatch; check each in turn to isolate the issue.
  • Where do you confirm the Magnus Health integration is enabled? In Modules > Integrated Services Manager, select Magnus Health from the list, and confirm there is a green checkmark under Enabled.
  • What data does Magnus Health require for students and parents? Students need a graduation class year, a relationship with at least one parent, and a date of birth; parents need a Finalsite username and a relationship with at least one student.
  • What is the Vendor Key in the Magnus Health integration? It is the personID (different from the constituent importID) in Finalsite, which can be checked against Magnus Health's records using a Credential Report export from Constituent Manager Settings.
  • How often does the Magnus Health integration run? Every hour, though not necessarily on the hour, so allow time after correcting data before expecting the sync to reflect changes.

If students and parents do not seem to be synching via a Magnus Health integration, here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

Check that the Magnus Health Integration is turned on

To do this:

  1. Navigate to Modules > Integrated Services Manager

  2. Select "Magnus Health" from the list of integrations.

  3. Ensure that there is a green checkmark located below "Enabled". If there is not, click on the black X icon to change it to the green checkmark and turn on the feed.

Check that the the data is correct in Constituent Manager

There are specific data requirements that must be met for the Magnus Health integration to work correctly.

Students:

  • Must have a Class of graduation year.

  • Must have a relationship with at least one parent.

  • Must have a date of birth.

Parents:

  • Must have a username in Finalsite.

  • Must have a relationship with at least one student.

To check for these requirements you will want to navigate to Modules > Constituent Manager.

Relationships are displayed in the Profile tab.

Usernames are displayed in the Account tab.

Class year is also found in the profile tab, but will depend on the arrangement of your fields.

Check your Vendor Key

The main identifier in Magnus Health for a constituent is what they refer to as a “Vendor Key”. This is the personID (different from the constituent importID) in Finalsite. If you want to double check the the Person ID vs. the Vendor Key located in Magnus you can export this data.

To do this:

  1. Navigate to Modules > Constituent Manager.

  2. Select Settings in the upper-left corner.

  3. Select Credential Report and then select a role. Do not select any filters. To obtain results click Apply Filters.

  4. From here you can export your data using the Export Current Table button.

Once you have performed all of the following checks, the Magnus Health integration runs every hour (not necessarily on the hour), so please wait once the data has been entered into Magnus for the full integration to run.
