Student information in the Mobile App for families: View grades, assignments, and attendance

This article explains how to view grades, assignments, and attendance in the Student view of Finalsite's Mobile App, including missing work, past grading periods, and absences and tardies.

💡 Quick answers

  • How is missing work found? A missing assignments summary appears near the top of the Student view. Inside a class, the Missing filter lists the missing work for that class.
  • Where is a class grade? Scroll to Classes. Each class shows its current running grade and percentage.
  • Where are individual assignment scores? Tap a class, then tap an assignment to see its score and details.
  • Which button shows past grading periods? The Grades history button next to Classes lists grades for each grading period, such as a semester or six weeks, depending on the school.
  • Where is attendance? The Attendance card shows totals for excused and unexcused absences and tardies, with a semester selector. Tapping the card lists every absence.
  • Where are grades and attendance corrected? In the school's source system.

Review missing assignments

The missing assignments summary near the top of the Student view lists work across every class, and Show all opens the full list. Upcoming assignments appear just below. Both appear when there is something to show, so use them to spot work that still needs attention before it affects a grade.

Check class grades

The Classes list shows every class on the student's schedule, from homeroom through the last period. Each class shows the current running grade and the matching percentage, and a class without a grade shows No grade.

  • Step 1: Open the Student view and select the child.
  • Step 2: Scroll to the list of classes.
  • Step 3: Select the semester at the top right of Classes to switch terms.
  • Step 4: Tap a class to see its assignments and scores.

Terms in which a class is not scheduled are labeled Class not scheduled this term.

Open assignment details

The top of a class shows the teacher, room number, and overall grade. Below it, the Assignments tab offers filters for All, Upcoming, Missing, and Completed work. Tap an assignment to see its score, weight, assigned and due dates, and any web reference the teacher added.

Assignment detail varies by school

The amount of detail depends on the data the school's student information system sends. Contact the school with questions about what appears for a class.

 Real-world scenarios

A parent opens the Student view to prepare for a conversation with a 10th grader.

  • The missing assignments summary shows a few items across different classes.
  • Opening English and selecting Missing lists three assignments with their details, so the conversation can focus on what to complete before it becomes a zero.
  • Grades history shows how each grading period compares.
