Calendar colors and icons explained

Calendar Manager events can be decorated with colors and icons, but when multiple decorations apply to the same event, specific rules determine which one takes precedence. This article explains the four priority rules for icons, colors, and category-level decorations.

💡Quick answers

  • What takes precedence when both an icon and a color key apply to the same event? The icon always overrides the color key.
  • Which icon displays when more than one icon applies to an event? The icon whose file path is alphabetically last takes precedence.
  • Which color displays when multiple color keys apply to the same event? The color that appears last in the hexadecimal alphabet takes precedence.
  • Does a category-level decoration override colors or icons set on individual events? Yes; decorations applied to a calendar category always take the highest priority, overriding both event-level colors and icons.
