The Athletics Event Year setting in Calendar Manager controls the date range used for displaying events when the Calendar element is set to show the "Current Event Year." Adjusting this setting at the start of each season ensures the correct year's events appear on your athletics pages.
💡Quick answers
- What is the Athletics Event Year setting? A date range configured in Athletics Manager that defines the current school sports season; Calendar elements set to display "Current Event Year" use this range to determine which events to show.
- Where do you modify the Athletics Event Year? In Athletics Manager settings; find the Event Year configuration and update the start and end dates to reflect the current athletics season.
- When should the Event Year be updated? At the start of each new school sports season; if the Event Year isn't updated, Calendar elements showing "Current Event Year" may display outdated or no events.
- Does the Event Year setting affect all Calendar elements on the site? Only Calendar elements configured to use the "Current Event Year" display option; elements using fixed date ranges or other options are not affected.
Team schedules are defaulted to automatically start on July 1st each year. If you want to modify that, you can go to the Team Classification section from the Athletics Manager Dashboard and adjust the Event Year dropdown menu. Set the dropdown to the month range that is appropriate for your needs.
Important Note
Upcoming events that fall into the next Event Year by virtue of the settings in this dropdown menu will not be displayed unless the "Publish events in future Event Years" checkbox is selected for the individual teams (in the Team Properties section of the team). For example, if you choose to stay with a July through June year and view events scheduled for June of the current year, you will not see any events scheduled beyond the end of June. Once the new event year starts, then the full year of upcoming events will be visible.
