Why should I switch to new Forms? Do I still need Forms Manager? Can I use both at the same time? What happens to all my old forms?

We've compiled a quick overview to answer these questions and help you decide how and when to transition.

Why should I use Forms?

Forms is built on the same software platform as Composer, resulting in a more stable environment. We also gave the user interface a complete facelift, making the entire experience more user friendly and intuitive, consistent with the other modules in the Composer platform. Our developers took the lessons learned and feedback received about Forms Manager to make the new Forms module a highly functional but simple-to-use tool.

Why should I use Forms Manager?

There are still features within Forms Manager that we haven't developed in Forms — yet. Until then, if any of these scenarios apply to your form, you will want to continue using Forms Manager.

You are using a payment gateway other than HPCI or BlueSnap (e.g., PayPal Standard or SagePay).
You offer recurring payment options.

Can I use both forms modules at the same time?

Yes! We are not deactivating Forms Manager at this time, but we have limited our support to fixing major bugs that affect features not currently available in new Forms.

What happens to all my old forms?

Everything stays put in Forms Manager. When you import an existing form into new Forms, all original submission data stays with the original form. New submissions will be collected within new Forms.

And did you catch that? You can import existing forms into new Forms — don't recreate the wheel!

Will I still use Payment Manager?

Payment Manager is no longer necessary. All transaction data is captured along with the submissions in new Forms. To access the payment information from the Submissions tab, click on a row to display a panel with full submission and payment data in one place.
