This article covers how to configure sources in Finalsite Feeds, including how to add and delete sources, which platforms require a connected account, and how source limits affect the Feeds package.
💡Quick answers
- What defines a source? A source is a single stream of posts from a specific username, page, or hashtag on a supported social media platform. Each unique account or hashtag counts as a separate source.
- Which platforms require a connected account before adding a source? Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok must be connected on the Connected Accounts screen in Feeds before a source can be added.
- How do you add a new Feeds source? In the Feeds module, click the red + Add social media source button, select the platform, enter the account name or identifier, configure any options, and click Create Source.
- How do you delete a Feeds source? On the Social Media Sources tab, click the arrow next to the source, select Delete from the dropdown, and confirm in the popup.
- What happens if the source limit is reached? No additional sources can be added without either deleting an existing source or contacting a Client Success Manager to expand the package.

Step 1: Navigate to the Feeds module
In Composer, open the module menu on the left sidebar and select Feeds. Access is handled via SSO using a Finalsite account. For a full overview of the Feeds module interface, moderation settings, and the Feeds element, see the Feeds overview article.
Step 2: Understand what a source is
In Finalsite Feeds, a source is a specific stream of data from a single account or hashtag on a single platform. If the hashtag #tbt is added from both X and Instagram, these count as two distinct sources. Five different Facebook pages count as five sources. The total number of allowed sources depends on the specific Feeds package.
Step 3: Add a source
Once inside the Feeds module, click the red + Add social media source button in the left navigation panel.
The Add a Social Media Source window opens with all available platforms.
Connected accounts required for some platforms
Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok must first be connected on the Connected Accounts screen in Feeds before adding a source from those platforms. See the platform-specific setup guides below for details on connecting accounts.
Select the desired platform. The source configuration form will appear. Enter the account name, page identifier, or hashtag, configure any available options (such as including retweets), then click Create Source.
The Feeds console will refresh after a few seconds. This may take up to 30 seconds in some cases. The newly added source will then appear in the Social Media Sources list.

Step 4: Delete a source
To remove a source, click the Social Media Sources tab in the Feeds module. Click the arrow next to the source to delete. A dropdown menu will appear; select Delete, then click OK in the confirmation popup. When deleting multiple sources, the confirmation popup only appears for the first one.
Note that any Feeds elements on the website that were displaying content from the deleted source will also need to be updated to point to a different source.
Step 5: Manage source limits
Each Feeds package has a maximum number of allowed sources. If the limit is reached, no additional sources can be added until either an existing source is deleted to make room, or the package is expanded by contacting a Client Success Manager.
Step 6: Request additional integrations
Navigate to the Request source option in the Feeds module if a desired platform is not listed. The engineering team periodically evaluates new API requests to expand the module's capabilities. Note that availability for new integrations depends on the third-party network's data sharing policies.
