Setup and access

Q: What does Finalsite set up?

A: Finalsite adds the CrazyEgg tracking script to the site. This applies to all clients with the legacy Finalsite Insights service in their contract, those implementing the new Imagine Design Experience, or those with "Insights and Optimization" consulting in their contract. Getting started begins once admins receive the invitation from CrazyEgg. Not sure what you have? Reach out to your Client Success Manager or email clientsuccess@finalsite.com.

Q: Does CrazyEgg slow the site?

A: CrazyEgg describes its script as lightweight and asynchronous. See Does CrazyEgg impact your page speed?

Q: Can more pages be tracked?

A: Yes. See Create your first heatmap and Creating multiple heatmaps.

Q: Can pages behind a login be tracked?

A: Yes, with CrazyEgg Page Camera. See Using Page Camera.

Reports and data

Q: Why is there no data yet?

A: Reports become available once a heatmap has tracked at least one visitor, and tracking starts once the site is live. See Viewing heatmap reports.

Q: How many visits are needed?

A: It depends on the site and the goal. Low-traffic sites can still benefit. See the CrazyEgg click heatmap guide.

Q: Are mobile and desktop visitors tracked separately?

A: Heatmaps can be filtered by device. See Filtering heatmap reports.

Q: How are clicks tracked?

A: See How clicks are tracked on heatmap reports.

Sharing and privacy

Q: Can someone view a report without a CrazyEgg login?

A: Yes, with a share link. See Sharing a heatmap.

Q: Can reports be exported?

A: Yes. See Exporting reports.

Q: How does CrazyEgg handle visitor privacy?

A: CrazyEgg does not capture sensitive entries such as passwords and card numbers and provides tools to mask fields. See CrazyEgg privacy and data practices.

Q: Where can more answers be found?

A: The CrazyEgg FAQ, the CrazyEgg Help Center, and the CrazyEgg YouTube tutorials cover many common questions.
