What does LaunchPad do for you?

  • Pre-populates your school information including school names and addresses to shorten your data entry task.
  • Provides a way for you to easily approve or modify your details in a central location.
  • During the process of entering your site colors, includes a Color Contrast Validation tool for assistance with accessibility compliance.

How do I get started?

Your Project Management team will provide a link for you to access your individual LaunchPad which is a series of tabs you can click through, enter details as needed, and approve once you are ready to submit your final submissions!

Quick Tutorial: LaunchPad Quickstart Guide

1. LaunchPad is a guide created to walk you through adding and confirming the details that will go onto your new website.

Your Project Manager will provide you with a URL you can use to access your own personalized LaunchPad.

2. Tab 1 is where the names of your district and schools have been prepopulated so you don't have to start from scratch.

3. However, if you notice something needs to be fixed, it's very easy to change information in the fields. Click Lyman Memorial High School.

4. Type Lebanon Memorial High School into the field.

5. Add a new school in case one is missing in your list. Click Add new school.

6. Click into a field then you'll see what it looks like when a new school's name and information is added into a row.

7. Once the new name is entered, confirm the information is correct in the newly-added school. Toggle on to Approve.

8. Approving your last details will automatically approve all of the information in a particular tab.

9. Now the tab will show completed in the Approve all area and you're ready to move on to the next tab.

Remember that you can always come back and add something later. The final approve will happen in Tab 6.

Click Next to move to Tab 2: School URL and motto.

11. Tab 2. School URL and motto is where you will enter and confirm the URLs and other assets that will be used to access your domain and subdomains.

Let's see how it works!

12. You can enter the URL into the School URL column that will take users to each school.

For example, Type this URL which will be the new sub-domain for the Middle School: lms.lebanonct.org

13. Ready for Tab 3? This is where you will submit logos and assets for each of your sites.

15. In this section of the article, you can reference the details about each logo field, helping you know which type of logo goes into which field.

16. Ready to add your logos?

Click Browse to open up a window where you can drag to select your chosen logo.

17. Once you add your logo, you have two options: "Copy to this school" will save this logo to other logo fields in this row while "Copy to all schools" adds this logo to all schools.

Click Copy to this school to see what happens!

18. Do you see how GoodLogo.png automatically copied to the Secondary Logo URL column?

Click Browse to add a logo to Lebanon Elementary School.

19. We then added Lebanon Elementary School's logo and copied it to save more time.

Don't forget to Approve any new logo or asset adds before moving on to the next tab.

20. Let's go learn how to add your chosen Colors. Click Next at the bottom to move on!

21. Tab 4. is where you will add colors as hex codes. The tool will help you determine if your colors pass the contrast ratio requirements for accessibility.

22. Once you have your hex code ready, click Enter Main Color.

23. When a color hex code is entered, the Contrast column tells you right away whether this color passes or fails.

Type #000000 and let's see if it passes the contrast test.

24. It passed!

Click Enter Accent Color to enter another color.

25. Type #C76E00 which will serve as an Accent Color to our the Main Color.

Remember that accent colors do not have to pass the accessibility contrast test.

26. Once you have your Main Color and Accent colors, you can even easily copy them to save time!

Hover to make the copy button show up if you don't see it, then click Copy to all schools. It will then populate throughout the Main Color column.

27. We're almost at the end!

Click Next to move on to Tab 5 and learn about SEO Settings.

28. In Tab 5, SEO Settings, you can set a unique identifier to connect your website to Google Analytics where you can obtain valuable insights about how users interact with your pages.

30. Google provides great step-by-step materials to guide you through the process of setting up your GA4-ID. Bookmark the GA4 Help Page for later, if you'd like.

Click on the browser tab to return to Launchpad.

31. Some web admins like to set up their site analytics later in the process. Feel free to wait on this.

If you do choose to set up Google Analytics, you'll be given a GA4 ID for each of your sites. Click Enter GA4 ID to see how it works.

32. Type G-PSW1MY7HB4 into the blank, which is similar to what your GA4 ID will look like.

You'll add your Custom tag manager ID and edit the other details whenever you're ready.

33. The Google Analytics information that you enter in to the fields will be used on your future site to track analytics.

Click Next to go to the final tab, where you will solidify your plans for your Theme or Theme Flex website package.

34. Tab 6. Themes is where you can browse through all of the Themes and get a feel for your favorites, even taking a sort of test drive with the websites you are considering.

35. Find the Bristol theme and click Select this theme to see how this works.

36. This screen shows you a quick visual of what the process will look like on the left.

Click Live Demo page to go "try out" the selected theme!

37. The red Demo button in the left will open up a panel where you can customize your details now that you can see them LIVE.

Click DEMO to try it out.

38. The panel that opens up allows you to play with options in several different areas, including Colors, Fonts, Header, Footer, and so much more!

Click to expand out the arrow in the Colors tab.

39. Try out new colors in your theme. Click on the colors to adjust the hex codes.

Try out new Fonts by clicking the arrow next to Fonts.

40. The Header options show you what you can try out depending on what is possible with the selected theme.

It's so fun to play and see all of the endless possibilities.

41. All set? Click Send to Launchpad to send these more recent selections to LaunchPad!

42. Click Close to confirm that your new options were sent to LaunchPad.

43. Return to LaunchPad by clicking the browser tab one last time.

44. A short summary of your selections will display on this page. Click Next Step.

45. Now the real fun begins!

Click Final Approve once you have confirmed and approved all of your settings.
