Permitted file types in File Manager

These are the default types of files that are supported in File Manager:

• Images (.gif, .jpg, .png)
• Word (.doc, .docx, .docm, .dotx, .dotm)
• Excel (.xls, .xlsx, .xlsm, .xltx, .xltm)
• PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx, .pps, .ppsx, .pptm, .potx, .potm)
• Adobe Acrobat (.pdf)
• HTML (.htm or .html)
• Text (.txt)
• .rtf
• .ico
• Zip (.zip)
• Audio (.wav, .mp3)
• Video (.mpg, .mpeg, .avi, .qt, .mov, .mp4 )
• Javascript (.js)
• Stylesheet (.css)

Please Note: If your desired filetype is not listed here, please contact Finalsite Support and request to have that type added to your organization's website.

Note: Executable program files (.exe, .dmg, and executable Unix files) cannot be uploaded to File Manager. If you need to upload an executable file, we recommend compressing it into a .ZIP archive first.
