What are Elements?
Elements are the fundamental building blocks of your Composer pages. Learn more about how elements work in the article, "Understanding elements" and read about each of the 5 tabs in the element library: Standard, Module, Layout, Social, and Shared.
The second tab of the Element Library is the Module tab. Clicking on the name of each element in bullets below will take you to the article that explains more about how each one works.
List of all Module Elements
Here are all of the elements that live in the Module tab of the Element Library
- Athletics Event element: The Athletics Event element displays upcoming sporting events from Athletics Manager. The options and settings in the element determine exactly which events are displayed.
- Athletics Roster element: The Athletics Roster element can display a list of team members, or a list of coaches, for a selected team.
- Athletics Team element: The Athletics Team element can be used to display either a directory-style listing of athletics teams or detailed profile information about a specific team.
- Board element: Create a directory listing of boards in a particular folder in a list or grid format, or display details about a single board.
- Calendar element: Configure your calendars in either the New Calendar module or Calendar Manager so that then you can use a Calendar element to display these events in a variety of ways on your website!
- Calendar Tools element: Whether you want to filter, browse, or search for a specific event, the Calendar Tools element has got you covered.
- Constituent element: The Constituent element displays a directory listing of Constituents, according to the parameters established in the element settings. The Constituent element can also be used to create individual profiles and a search function within your directory page.
- Constituent Map element: The Constituent Map element is used to create an interactive map based on household data located in Constituent Manager.
- eNotify Archive: This is less likely to be used now that eNotify has been sunset and Messages is being used for newsletter and messaging capabilities. It still remains as a tool that support may use to transfer over content from eNotify to Messages.
- Form element: You may see the icon labeled "Form" on your Module menu. This represents the older, legacy module called, "Forms Manager" that was used on older Finalsite sites. This element can be used to display a Forms Manager form on your Composer page. However, many clients are on the newer version of Forms (see next bullet).
- Forms element: This may be a bit confusing to see two elements pertaining to forms! Remember that the Forms element goes with the new Forms module and has a pink banner saying "NEW!" above the top. This element allows you to place forms created in the New Forms module onto your Composer pages.
- Groups element: The Groups element displays links to a user’s Group Manager groups.
- Issue element and Issue Tools element: The Issue and Issue Tools elements work dynamically with the Publications module to showcase periodic content on your website, providing an Issue-specific search tool for visitors to search through your content.
- Location element: The Location element creates a list of all your locations (set up in Locations) with links to the home page of the first domain they are associated with in Composer.
- Media element: This worked alongside Multimedia Manager which has been replaced on most Finalsite platforms with the Resources module.
- Post element: The basic building block of the Posts page is the Post element. The Post element is the public-facing side of Finalsite Posts making it possible for you to display posts from one or multiple Boards and/or a Collection on a Composer page.
- Post Tools element: The Post Tools element provides added functionality to the Post element, allowing users to filter, navigate, and search posts.
