In addition to the common element settings, the Athletics Team element includes the following configuration options.

Directory

Content Filters

Filters are how you select which team(s) appear in the Directory. You can add multiple filters in order to refine the list of displayed teams.

  • Division: Division refers to the level of play, such as intramural/junior varsity/varsity.
  • Gender: Use this filter to display either all boys’, girls’, or coed teams.
  • Season: Filter the list by Fall, Winter, Spring, or Summer sports
  • Sport: Select a specific sport to include. The list will show all teams playing that sport in any division.
  • Team: Select a specific team.

The Directory will list ALL teams that match the filter criteria that you set.

Content Details

Select which of the following pieces of information from each team's entry in Athletics Manager > Teams tab will appear in the element.

  • Icon: Toggle the display of the team's icon on or off. The team icon is set in Athletics Manager > Teams > Team Properties (screen) > Team Properties (content section) > Icon image.
  • Record: Selecting this checkbox will display the team's current win/loss record.
  • League Record: Selecting this checkbox will display the team's current win/loss record against opponents in their league. The “league” status is set per event, in Athletics Manager > Events > Event Properties > Properties > "League Event" checkbox.
  • School: If you have multiple schools configured in Athletics Manager (most schools do not), select this checkbox to toggle each team's associated school name on or off.

Controls

Link team names to profiles: When this checkbox is selected, clicking on a team's name will populate the team’s details in other Athletics elements, either on the same page or a different page. When unselected, the team name will not link to anything.

Formatting

  • Display Teams In: Select whether this element will display a list of teams, or a dropdown menu (“Select Menu”) that users can click to select a team.
  • Group teams: You can choose to display the teams in groupings by sport or by season. For example, all your levels of football or all your fall sports can be displayed together as a group.

Link To

  • Choose “Page” to open Athletic team details in a new page that you select. Whatever page you select must have an Athletics Event, Athletics Roster, and/or Athletics Team Profile element on it to function.
  • Choose “Element” to open Athletic team details in a separate Athletics element on the same page. This setup would mean that the Athletic Team (Directory) element is used by site visitors to select which team's information is displayed in the Athletics element(s). Click and highlight multiple elements in the dropdown menu if you want to update the content in more than one Athletics element.

Profile

Content Filters

Default Athletics Team: Select the team to profile. Only one team can be displayed per Athletics Team Profile element.

Note: Select "Dynamic Only" if this element is used in conjunction with another element linked to it on the same page. This is done by creating another Athletic Team (Directory) element on the current page, opening its Settings, and in the "Open In" section, select this Athletic Team (Profile) element from the dropdown menu. The Athletic Team (Profile) element must be created and saved before it will appear in the "Open In" dropdown menu of the Athletic Team (Directory) element.

Content Details

Select which of the following pieces of information from each team's entry in Athletics Manager > Teams tab will appear in the element.

Team Information
  • Name: Toggle the display of the team's name on or off. The team name is set in Athletics Manager > Teams > Team Properties (screen) > Team Properties (content section) > Custom Team Name.
  • Icon: Toggle the display of the team's icon on or off. The team icon is set in Athletics Manager > Teams > Team Properties (screen) > Team Properties (content section) > Icon image.

Team Content
  • Description Content 1: When checked, the element will show the content of Athletics Manager > Teams > Team Properties > Team Page Information > Description Content 1.
  • Description Content 2: When checked, the element will show the content of Athletics Manager > Teams > Team Properties > Team Page Information > Description Content 2.
  • Overview Content: When checked, the element will show the content of Athletics Manager > Teams > Team Properties > Team Page Information > Overview Content.
  • Schedule Content: When selected, the element will show the content of Athletics Manager > Teams > Team Properties > Team Page Information > Schedule Content.

Advanced

Ignore URL Parameters: When selected, the page that this element is on will always retain its own title and page metadata for tracking purposes. If you are tracking visits to the site by users who're interested in specific teams, leave this checkbox unselected. This way, your statistics tracking will show this page appearing once for each visit for each specific team rather than showing all of the visits for all teams collectively.

Troubleshooting: An athletics team isn’t showing.

  • In the Athletics Team element, check the filters to make sure the correct season, teams, etc., are selected. Make sure the “Link team names to profiles” checkbox is selected.

  • If the team is missing from a Calendar element, make sure the “Display Athletic Events” checkbox is selected and the specific team is selected from the “Teams” dropdown list.

  • In Athletics Manager > Teams > Team Properties, make sure “Hide Team on Pages” is not selected for the team.
