Manage calendars and events in New Calendars module

Once set up, the New Calendars module requires ongoing management for event edits, deletions, settings changes, and folder reorganization. This article covers the common tasks: editing and deleting events by calendar type, adjusting Folder and Calendar settings, and moving calendars between folders.

💡Quick answers

  • Can Live Calendar events be edited or deleted in New Calendars? No; Live events must be edited or deleted at their original source (e.g., Google Calendar). Standard and Exception events can be managed directly in New Calendars.
  • What is the difference between Folder settings and Calendar settings? Folder settings apply to all calendars within that folder (including folder-level permissions); Calendar settings are granular and apply only to the individual calendar.
  • What does "Make available to public" do in calendar settings? Enables three things: the calendar appears on mobile apps, visitors can subscribe to it, and it can be connected dynamically in Messages.
  • Moving a calendar to a different folder? Open the calendar's 3-dot More menu > Settings > Folder dropdown, select the new folder, and click Save.
  • Where are calendar permissions adjusted after initial setup? In Calendar settings > Permissions tab for individual calendars, or in Folder settings > Permissions tab for all calendars within a folder.

Once you are all set up in New Calendars module, you'll need to learn how to manage some common tasks on a day-to-day basis. This article will go over some of the most common tasks to help you manage your calendars and events.

Extra Setting in Live Calendars: Refresh

Do you see an extra setting when you are configuring your Live Calendar settings? Look at this section below to learn how you can choose the Refresh option to push a manual calendar sync if in between the automated sync times.

Move and reorganize calendars in folders

Move calendars around in your folder system as you get settled. To move a calendar into a new folder, open the 3-dot More menu for that calendar to open up the Calendar settings

Adjust permissions

Permissions for the Calendars module may need to be adjusted as the year goes on and staff transitions take place. Permissions can be set on three different levels, allowing for very specific access to be granted according to the roles and responsibilities of your admin users. These three levels are: Global, Calendar Folder, and Individual Calendar. Read more about how these work in the article, “Calendars module permissions”.
