The RSS Feeds element connects a live RSS feed to a Composer page, automatically pulling in content as it is published. It is most commonly used to display Messages XR Enterprise content on a website, though any valid RSS URL can be connected.

The RSS Feeds element allows you to connect and automate content onto your website in real time. One of its most common uses is for Messages XR Enterprise users to connect live messages to a central location on a website. Learn more about how that works in the article, "Push messages from Messages XR Enterprise to a website page."Â

RSS Feeds element settings
Once you place an RSS Feeds element on a page, click the settings gear to see the available configurations.Â
In addition to the common element settings, the RSS Feeds element has the following configuration options:
- Title: Change the title to what you'd like to display above your RSS Feeds element.
- Content Filters > URL: Paste the RSS URL so that you can connect the RSS feed to this particular element on this page.
-
Content Details: Customize what details you'd like to display along with your content that is being pushed here.
- Title: Content title
- Description: A description of the content
- PubDate: Date the message or content was published or sent
- Controls: Select whether you'd like to display a Load More button for users to choose to populate more messages or content when they come to the end of what is showing by default.
-
Formatting: Determine how you'd like your content to display within the RSS Feeds element on the page.
- Display [X] items at a time from [time frame]: Use the numeral fields and dropdown menu to set the number of content snippets or messages this element will display, as well as how far back into the past it will “look” for events. Configure the element to span the current week or month, to cover within a specified range of dates, or to pull events from a set span of days.
-
Design: Use these settings if you would like to display additional content above or below the content configured in the RSS Feeds element.
- Header Content: Elements can include their own headers, displayed above the element content. This isn't a “header” like a banner that you'd apply to a page, but rather a separate content area above the main content section of the element.
- Footer Content: Likewise, elements can include their own “footer” content sections beneath the element for things like buttons or other notes that you want to make available to your site visitors.Â
